8 Man Football in Alien Country
To start, I traveled all the way to Roswell on Saturday to shoot the Melrose Buffaloes playing the Gateway Christian Warriors in their high school state football championship. Since Melrose lost, the paper only used one of the photos from the game so the rest are here for your enjoyment.
One might think these might not be as exciting as say, a college game, but these kids played hard and I think the photos show it. It was a close game the entire time, but in the end the Warriors scored a touchdown and the two point conversion with minutes left in the fourth quarter leaving the Buffaloes to scramble for another touchdown that didn’t happen, making the Warriors this years state champs in their division.
